XMP Firmware - Second Beta Release
We’d like to thank everyone that took the time to test and provide feedback on our latest XMP beta firmware release. A second beta release is now available for additional testing and contains several bug fixes and other improvements:
- Adds Mono, Blue as Mono, Red Only, Red as Mono, Green Only, Green as Mono to list of assignable function button selections.
- Adds 3rd-Party Calibration LUT support back into the build.
- Resolves bug from previous beta that could cause the monitor to partially freeze when making many different selections in rapid succession via monitor keypad.
- Resolves intermittent bug from previous beta that could cause a distorted image to appear on screen in a very small percentage of cases when making a new Color Menu selection.
- Resolves intermittent bug from previous beta that could prevent DIT Look LUTs from saving correctly to the monitor’s memory.
Please note that this release remains an early public beta intended for end-user testing of several powerful new features for the XMP series monitors. While we have resolved many of the bugs identified in the initial beta, a few issues still need resolution before this build can progress to an official release candidate.
You should not update if you require any of the following capabilities as they are not currently supported in this beta build:
- Dual Link 6G
- Dual Link 3G
- Making Color Menu selections via the IP Remote Utility
The items above will be added back in a future firmware build, but if you currently require any of these capabilities please continue to use the official 2.4.68 release for now.
As a reminder, here are the additional new features you can expect from these beta releases compared to the current official release:
- No gen-lock requirement for Quad View mode
- New 4-channel Look LUT capabilities, including 4 channel SDI output
- Simplified UHD -> HD downscaling, now across all 4 independent MON outputs
- Real-time LiveGrade compatibility with UHD/4K as well as HD sources
- Additional QC/engineering views: Blue Only, Red Only, Green Only, & Monochrome
- Addition of full-range RGB signal support for integrated scopes
- Bug fix: Audio de-embedding now de-embeds both CH1 and CH2 audio.
